The cafe that Dana picked out is a hipster hotspot in Central Boston, with two glass walls facing out toward the local park. The decor consists of a lot of wood, glass and twine, evoking a barn in the same way that technicolor triangles evoke the 80s. Wow, what a poetic way to call people pretentious.

She's already sipping a soda since she'd gotten bored while waiting. Garrett will find her in the corner where Coyote described - she can't be more than 20, about 5'7" and thin as a twig. Several parts of her outfit is black, with panels of glowing cyan tying it all together. Although the most striking part is something Coyote failed to mention - those are not light-up shoes. They are in fact fairly obvious prosthetic legs, starting at her mid-thigh just below the hem of her shorts. In keeping with her attire they're made of black metal, with glowing cyan trim, and each ankle has a large wheel tucked into it on each side.

Honestly, she has no idea what she's supposed to be looking for, except that Marina mentioned him being stupidly tall. So she just waves down the first man who makes her think jesus christ.

Garrett figures out who it is fairly quickly- and no, Coyote, those are definitely not shoes. He sees her around the same time she sees him, and he approaches carefully.

"Are you Coyote's friend?" he asks quietly, unsure if "Tempest" is a name she wants broadcasted at top volume in public. "I'm Hawke."

She greets him with a big grin, and nods. She leans in a bit, talking in a volume that's polite for the atmosphere, not necessarily hiding anything.

"Sure, I'm Dana." She touches a tattoo on the side of her neck, which pulses with a soft blue glow for a moment. "Most people around here know who I am, but thanks for not shouting it from the rooftops."

She takes another large gulp from her latte, sets it down and claps her hands together.

"So. We don't usually hire men - not being sexist, it's just kind of a girl's club by design. Like girl scouts, y'know? But Coyote made some really good points and honestly, if Marina likes ANY man, you must be pretty great. So now that we've got business out of the way - you're an outlander, right? What's your world like?"

Garrett is incredibly interested in the glowing tattoo, but takes a moment to order from the waitress who drifts past. Afterwards he sits and nods politely through Dana's explanation of their gender policies, completely understanding.

After his coffee arrives, he waits for the waitress to leave before answering. "Magic and dragons. I have a suit of armor at home. Boston is pretty weird to me."

"Yeah, I'll bet." She says, with raised brows.

She's still been drinking when Garrett ordered, but goes to sip again and realizes her cup is empty. She knocks loudly on the table to get the waitress's attention and waves her cup while still addressing Garrett - the waitress seems to already know what she wants, and blows a raspberry at her.

"We're pretty hi-tech by your standards, right? We haven't had knights with armor for aboooouuutttt... I dunno, 1700 years? Something like that. We do have magic though, if powers count. Not me, but I make do." She lifts a leg up and knocks on the metal. "Coyote mentioned you can do magic, right? I'm not gonna ask for a demonstration - it's too open around here. But I do wanna know about it."

"If we can go somewhere more private, I can demonstrate more," he points out. "But sure."

Garrett takes a sip from his latte, making sure to wipe little traces of whipped cream from his mustache. Drinking it without getting any in his whiskers is a technique he still hasn't mastered. "I can do elemental magic, meaning fire, lightning, and ice. I can also heal and restore a person's stamina as well as having some other spells in my arsenal. There's also some other stuff involving life force, but it isn't necessarily ethical, and I don't do it outside of extreme life or death situations. I have books of magic that I'm studying to learn more, and a bracer that can produce a magical shield strong enough to deflect bullets. I'm an ex soldier and mercenary as well, but I'm still new to using guns."

"Wow. That's a lot. I mean seriously, that would put you in S class." She tips her head and leans it on her hand, looking him over. "How long have you been here? I like your style."

A pause, and she leans forward.

"Don't worry about guns, by the way. If you know what you're doing, they can't touch you."

Garrett leans in with the same conspiratorial tone.

"I want to be just as deadly with a collar on as I am normally."

A wink.

That gets a laugh out of her.

"Okay, I like you." She pauses to take her new cup from the waitress, and hand over her card. "Hey, once they're done running my card, let's go spar. You've got me curious, I wanna see what you're working with."
